Now it’s only less than a month to Christmas Day, I’m feeling very festive and starting to prepare for the holiday party season. To be honest, as a steadfast Christmas fanatic, I was feeling festive in September but people get annoyed with you if you start discussing Christmas party outfits with them before Halloween.
With only about 17 sleeps left to the Big Day and having written my wish list, I feel justified in discussing Christmas beauty. So don the bauble earrings, down the mulled wine, stuff your face with mince pies and get into the festive spirit with me!
I hope all your winter hand care is going well as this article is all about the nail varnish to accompany your fabulous Christmas party outfits! Unfortunately my nails have been lost to the cruel effects of Winter; I have bitten them down to little baby stump nails. I am growing them back so I can try out these nail varnishes eventually, but you’ll have to show me the results first!
Models Own

Jewel bright colours are very big this season. Just have a look at all these beautiful clothes on the Vogue UK website. Such a gorgeous look for Christmas!
To accompany your emerald, sapphire, ruby and amethyst coloured outfits, Models Own have a collection of nail varnishes inspired by the pearlescent jewel-like colours on the wings of beetles – Beetlejuice @ £5 each.
There are five multi-tonal shades and each individual shade consists of four lustrous colours mixed into one, which shimmer and gleam in the light. Fantastic!
Colours are (from left to right): Golden Green, a fresh energetic acid; Pinky Brown, a warm rusty pink; Purple Blue, a vibrant punch of fuchsia indigo; Aqua Violet, a true sky shimmer; and Emerald Black, a bold blackened midnight peacock.
O.P.I
I genuinely believe that a Christmas party is not complete without sequins. Whether you go for full on bling like I do every year (my gold sequin bodycon dress springs to mind…) or whether you go for a more subtle look, sequins are definitely essential. You only have to look at the high street collections at the moment to see that metallics and sequins are big news for the party season this year.
You can only imagine my elation when I found these O.P.I nail varnishes on ASOS. I went a little bit loopy. They are the perfect way of blinging up a subtle outfit or for enhancing an already blingtastic outfit!

Nails INC
Nails INC have just released the most incredible nail varnish I have ever seen. It’s magnetic. I know, I can’t get my head around it either. The varnish contains metallic particles that create patterns on the nail when you swirl the magnet in the bottle lid over the nail. The iron powder is attracted to the magnet forming the pattern. You can make all sorts of patterns - it really is astonishing!
