I have very dry skin and was supposed to take liquid flaxseed oil but ended up putting on weight. Would fish oil tablets have the same effect?
For very dry skin I recommend you take an internal as well as an external approach.
Instead of the flaxseed oil use the seeds instead, 1 tablespoon on your breakfast in the morning. You can also start enriching your diet with foods such as olives, avocados, oily fish and small amounts of nuts. I also suggest you follow the guidelines I have made in dealing with spots.
You will need to support your liver and I suggest you use liver herbs like milk thistle, artichoke or a mixed herbal liver tonic.
Externally, start skin brushing; just before you shower use a quality skin brush and in circular motions gently moving upwards, brush all over. Get yourself a good quality oil and use it once to twice a day massaging it into your skin. You can use oils such as jojoba, sweet almond oil or one which I love is Weleda’s Birch Cellulite Oil.
