Will you visit the Salt Cave for us? [Now Closed]

Jenny_L

Calling all sneezers, coughers, asthmatics and snorers!

We’ve been offered an exciting opportunity to send two budding health and beauty reviewers to try out the famous Salt Cave. For those who haven't heard of it, the Salt Cave offers Salt Therapy, a drug free, clinically proven therapeutic method based on a natural salt cave’s microclimate. Dry-salt enriched air is dispersed into the treatment room and is easily inhaled with natural breathing.

The salt cave is clinically proven to deliver the healing benefits of dry-salt to the lower lungs, helping to alleviate respiratory problems such as sneezing, coughing, as well as cleansing airways, strengthening the immune system, improving dermatological disorders and reducing snoring. You will generally expect to leave feeling revitalised and relaxed!

The Salt Cave

TalkPerfection has been given exclusive passes for two of our members to experience the newly opened salt cave in Tunbridge Wells, as well as their established London salt cave, for free – in return for your review of course. You will be invited to bring a friend or partner to enjoy the hour-long session. So if you are able to make the trip to either of those caves in the first two weeks of September, tell us in the comments section below why you need Salt Therapy!

Reviewers will be selected on 20 August.

I would love for my 12 year old son to be able to try the salt cave. He has suffered from chronic asthma since the age of 3, and is now on the strongest medications available (including steroids). He is at a kid's holiday camp this week, but hasn't been able to enjoy it or participate much and has had to use his nebuliser every day. It would be so nice for him to find a treatment that works, so as he can enjoy life as he should be doing at his age.

I suffer severely from Sinusitis and my immune system isn't at it's best. I take daily supplements (Wellwoman) but I fall ill easily and no matter what I am suffering from my sinusitis flares up. I also have unusually small tear ducts which cause my eyes to water easily. As soon as I touch my eyes my nose runs, my throat itches and off my sinuses go again! I think I would really benefit from Salt Therapy which I have never even heard of before until reading this article.

Hello, I am 27 and I have an auto immune illness called Wegener's Granulomatosis which means my immune system attacks my body in particular my lungs, ears nose and throat. I have blocked sinuses and tear ducts as well as recurrent chest infections. I am in a lot of pain so I would love to try out the salt caves, it would be like stepping into a giant nebuliser!  I have a lot of problems with the lower lobe of my lungs and my left lung collapses a lot. It's my birthday in September and my twin sister lives in London so we can go together, she does not have the disease. We will be spending our birthday together so it would be absolutely amazing to go to the Salt Caves during the day, this would give me a boost for when we celebrate our birthday in the evening when we meet our friends and obviosuly tell them all how amazing the Salt Caves are  :)

thanks

Alleviating sneezing and coughing, reducing snoring and strengthening the immune system? Count me in! I could do with help with all of these! I have what feels like a continuous cold (allergic rhinitis) along with sinus infections almost every time I have a cold, I tend to snore, even when not on my back, have mild asthma and my immune system is pretty shot at the moment, as well as the skin on my face and some parts of my body. I'd love to try the London branch and can get there easily, especially in September - it'd be a lovely treat for me for finishing some difficult medical treatment, so fingers crossed I'm picked!

Hi, I would love to try Salt therapy. I hope it could help me with my skin problems that I've had since I was 7 (so that makes it 10 years now.) It's called pleva and a lot of people haven't heard of it and I would much prefer to try something natural than to keep using topical steroids that seem to do nothing but thin my skin. In addition, I have hayfever (as both my parents do - it tends to run in families apparently) and mild asthma, which gets in the way especially with swimming, as it takes me a long time to get used to the temperature of the water and I get a shock. All this within my hectic lifestyle, which could perhaps be a contributing factor to the skin problem. I know salt cave is also a relaxation therapy so I would be very grateful if I could try this out. Thank you so much!

i am all into natural therapy, so this sounds ideal.  hubby is a snorer....and suffers from hayfever.  i have mild hayfever but get frequent colds which leave me with a hacking cough for 2 weeks!  i have tried all sorts to give me relief.  i have a salt pipe (from Higher Nature - though i have seen them cheaper in one of those gimmicky helath catalogues) and i do find it gives relief, the problem is i have no patience!  this trip to a salt cave will 'force' me to spend some time on myself and get the therapy i need.  and no, hubby will not come with as the second person! I'll treat my sister-in-law who suffers really badly from allergies and always seems to have a runny nose!

The opportunity sounds really therapeutic and may indeed help me with snoring and early morning coughs and sneezes. What is more attractive is that its natural and looks like a serene and calming ambience.

YES!  I'd skip all the way there!  I have been an asthma sufferer all my life through allergys.  It started as an allergy to cats and dogs but seem to have developed into dust - theres no avoiding it!  I have both the bue inhaler and the round disc one which the doc has me using to try and wean me off the blue one.  I mostly have to take my blue inhlaer when I first wake up and sometimes even in the middle of the night.  I have been playing about with my diet to try and help my asthma but haven't quite found the solution just yet.  I am willing to give anything a go.  I go to the gym daily and this has never effected my breathing?!?  Bizarre.

I'll give anything a go that suggests a cure

I snore and would love to see if this reduced it. I think my snoring is related to this constant bunged up feeling I have. I don't breathe through my nose because it feels like I can;t get enough air in....if that makes sense.

I know my mum would love to send my dad with me as he is an incredible snorer...runs in the family!

I'd lve my partner to give up smoling, and this could be just the incentive to help him. We live near Tunbridge wells too so that would be perfect for us....

Btw - the website says the first session is free!!!  Don't know if that means you have to commit to anything else as there isn't much info about it - only a phone number or an online webform.  I may complete the webform and see what the conditions are for the "free session".

I have been really 'bunged up' recently!  I see that eczema is also mentioned, I have suffered from that in the past few years too; and I have a niggling cough.  There is an awful lot of countryside around me, and right now the combines are going well into the night.  The bunged-upness seems much worse at night, and I have been resorting to nasal sprays which I know don't do my nasal passages much good in the long term.

When I used to go to Alexander Technique classes, the chap that took them once advised me to buy sea salt, dissovle it in a little water and then sort of sniff the liquid up each nostril - I know it sounds revolting, but really, it does work!  In fact you can buy nasal sprays of liquid sea salt, so I'm all for this type of treatment.

My other half snores dreadfully - most nights I wear earplugs, but I can still hear him.  If I could I would go and sleep somewhere else some nights, but there's only the sofa, and that's not very comfortable!  He has actually had several different treatments for snoring (but I think the main reason may be because he could do with losing some weight!).  When he's racing he regularly does the Atkins Diet which works for him, but this year, the racing car hasn't been out at all as he's too busy - therefore, no diet!

Also, I live quite near Tunbridge Wells!!

I have asthma and year round allergies to pollen, grasses, dust, feathers, fur, perfumes etc. My partner calls me the snot queen. I spend a fortune on tissues, but not even the kind with the balm in because I'm allergic to that too!

I also have a very weak immune system and am constantly catching bugs.

My partner himself is a chronic snorer and constantly disturbing my sleep.

I think any help this could give either of us would be very welcome!

Would love to visit. Always have a runny sniffy nose and people think i always have a cold. Not good when you work in a maternity unit feeding babies whilst trying to wipe your nose. New mothers look at me as if im going to pass something onto the babies! Ive tried everything over the counter to no effect!

My husband would love me to try this!  My nose permanently runs as I don't want to take steroids anymore.  I have had asthma and eczema for the past 30 years too.  If the salt treatment could help relieve some of my symptoms for a while then I'd be on top of the world

I'd love to try the salt caves my hubby's snoring drives me up the wall, and I swear it's worse since he had surgery for a cancerous lump in his leg,and if it helps my hayfever that will be a great bonus too, as I snore as well, apparently, (but not as loudly) then I will be able to tell my other friends who may have snoring related problems, or hayfever too

My partner and I have both recently given up smoking and we are currently going through that horrible stage where the toxin build up is fighting to get out of your body. It's not nice.

Our chests feel tight and breathing (especially at night) is a real struggle.

If this treatment honestly does cleanse airways and help to stop snoring.....we're the ones to tell you if it works!
