Menopause

misslily2001

HI

I thought I would share a fantastic website  with all you ladies who have gone through the menopause either naturally or because of a hysterectomy.

www.SurviveMenopause.com

I have found this website extremely useful and hope you do too.

For those of you who are against taking HRT and are looking for a natural remedy Black Cohosh is a brilliant herbal supplement - however if you suffer from headaches then avoid this as it aggrevates them. I have found Peony tincture is very good - a few drops in water 3 times a day has really helped.

Hope this is useful to some of you

Hi, i think i may be going through menopause, i am having irregular periods, one missed for 5 month and another 11 weeks then i go and have 2 in a month last one being july ,one full week then miss a week and then another full week full on, i am also losing lots of hair but because i had really thick hair before its not showing as much as to thinness but i can feel the difference myself and everytime i wash my hair it just falls out everywhere falling all over my body and loads in my hands when i take my hands away from head. I am not sure whether this is the change, menopause or because of all the stress i have suffered in the last year as my 27 year old son died last year, i am 47 , 48 end of september.

Hi Wendy, I don't have any personal experience of menopause yet, so I was hoping someone that did have would reply but I couldn't leave this unresponded to. Firstly, I'm so terribly sorry to hear about your son. The stress and anguish you must have gone through is unimaginable. It's no wonder at all that your body is displaying outward signs of this stress. Whether menopause is behind the physical changes, or the stress is, either way I really think you should speak to your GP and get some proper personal medical advice. Take care, Holly

Hi,

Thanks for the site address, I shall look it up now. At 47 my GP (when I actually manage to get an appointment!) is insisting I NEED HRT. I know that is the last thing I need. So once again Thanks for the address!

Hi Lind, Dr's love to prescribe HRT and mine like your's tried to insist I take HRT, and basically told me I would suffer from all sorts of complications later in life if I didn't take it, what they don't tell you are all the side effects you get when taking HRT (i.e. the increased risk of breast cancer!!). The internet is a wonderful tool - and there are many sites out there where you can learn about various options open to you. Good luck and if you need any other advise don't hestitate to ask - there are also lots of forums out there where you can ask women in the same situation as yourself. By the way - don't fall into the trap of thinking you are having a hot flush - more a power surge or as I do a tropical moment!!
