Review organic Green People Mascara for us
Hello ladies of TalkPerfection! The lovely Green People liked your Mother's Day stories so much that they asked whether we want to review beautiful goodies for them. Naturally, we said yes!
The great thing about the Green People brand is it's certified organic by Ecocert, so it's suitably gentle on all skin types, even sensitive skin and those prone to acne, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea. And here's a fact for you all to consider: Lipsticks can contain crushed beetles. ‘Carmine’, ‘Cochineal’ or CI 75470 is a red pigment used to create a vivid red lipstick. Apparently it takes 70,000 insects to make one pound of cochineal dye!
So up for grabs we have this Volumising Mascara in black, worth £13.99, that claims to be smudge-proof. There’s no mercury, just shea butter and almond oil that will condition lashes and claims to give a volumised effect that lasts all day.
We need two reviewers for this mascara, so if you're interested tell us below what you think of organic makeup and whether you would buy it.

I would love to trial the volumising mascara by Green People as we are, of course, products of what we put in and put on our body. For the past 10 years now, I have been extremely cautious of what products I use on my body - mainly because I don't want to find out the damage that these modern unorganic lotions and potions may wreak on my body later on in life!
I have pale eyelashes and really need mascara but am reluctant to change brands as many makes irritate my eyes and so end up in the bin after a couple of uses - which I cannot afford. I really would like to switch to an ethical brand and so am actively huntng a new brand but would like to do so with confidence after trying a sample.
This sounds great - just what I have been waiting for! I would always go for a natural product especially near my eyes and would definately buy it. I would really love to try it out first please.
I have been unable to use any mascara for decades without ending up with sore, red, itchy and runny eyes. Had given up on ever finding one so hopefully this one will be the one for me! Fingers crossed!

hi, i am always looking for animal friendly make-up but not much of it is that good. the kind of mascara i like is volumising and waterproof so i'd love to try it and see if it's better than other organic/animal friendly brands i've tried and i would buy it again if it is.
I'm vegetarian and try to buy organic whenever possible, but it's difficult when it comes to make-up - haven't found products that work as well as the bigger cosmetic brands. This sounds promising though. While I was using my last mascara, my eyelashes snapped off at the ends, so they must really have dried out, eeek! They've grown back now, but want to keep them in good shape, and this mascara might just do the trick.
Eeeeew! Am quite traumatised by the fact about beetles, as a vegetarian I find that truly horrific! I would much rather use a product that is organic and full of good quality natural ingredients than use something full of chemicals and unknown nasties... I would love to try this Green People product as using something natural around the eyes is especially important.
I totally support an organic mascara. The thought of Mercury near eyes is frightening. I'm looking to revise my beauty products for ecologically friendly and organic products. My eyes stream when using "normal" concealer, eyeshadow etc and I have to remove my makeup some days it's so upsetting. I've not yet found any mascara that doesn't make my eyes sting and I think I have tried most. This would be a real challenge, I'd love for it to be the answer for me.
Mascara is a vital part of my daily make up routine, and finding a good quality, long lasting cosmetic is important. I probably have tried ever mascara on the shelf and frequently find that many mascara's clump and don't seperate the lashes adequately, failing that... its makes no difference to your lashes at all. Shea butter is very nourishing and an organic product sounds like a dream! Lets see if it can offer what is says :) E x
Ooh I would love the chance to try this organic mascara! I use mascara every day but my eye lashes are quite short, and I have never heard or used an organic mascara before, this would be the perfect chance for me to trial it everyday, replacing my current mascara!
I would love to try this product as I'm always buyinmg a different mascara every week I've got longish eyelashes but they're so light no-one can make them out it would be absoluttely brilliant if I could just find a mascara that does it all for me....
Many Thanks xxxx Ria xx
My fiance and I are getting married in the summer and, as two environmentally-friendly people, we are trying to the make the day as eco as possible. So, to use a smudge-proof, organic mascara would be great. I can't think of a better test for a mascara than a wedding day!!!
I have been searching for a new mascara for a long time and would like to try the Green People mascara. I have found that as I get older what used to suit me no longer has the same inpact. I like a mascara that makes my lashes appear longer and thicker without the clumping effect that I seem to get. I also like the idea of using an organic mascara as I'm getting into the more natural products now.
i think this organic trend is really a great movement towards 'back to basics'. big cosmetics companies have come to use all sorts of weird chemicals and carcinogens in products they sell ['what you don't know can't hurt you' - doesn't work in this case], from cosmetics to food, and the most alarming thing is that they have enough power to keep all this information under control or make it seem less alarming. but the organic ones are the only ones who can 'come clean' about theur products, because they have nothing to hide.
i think the organic trend in cosmetics is needed just now; having sensitive skin i know the limitations and the harm of regular cosmetics; the natural choice works best for me and i would invest in organic cosmetics any time, because i believe in naturally looking after myself. being one such make-up product, i would definitely buy it, because i's rather spend an extra penny that i know is totally worth it.
