Vitality ShowMarch has arrived, and with it the indication that spring is finally here! The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and if you're a bit of a health and beauty geek you'll have noticed the buzz around the most exciting event of the year - The Vitality Show.

We've got 15 pairs of tickets to The Vitality Show* to give away to our TalkPerfection members, worth £29 per pair. You and a friend can browse the hundreds of exhibitors from Benefit Cosmetics to Weight Watchers, meet celebrities and experts and drop by special attractions such as the nails inc. I like to take sunflower or pumkin seeds daily with my porridge or yogart this enables me to obtain my omega 3 6 and 9 and should help me maintain good skin and good clear outs!

I have to go with  drinking lots of water and smiling all the way. it really works. I am 51 and most will give my age as a good 10 years younger.

I read a few articles recently that said that the 8-glasses a day thing is actually (as these things often are) a false assumption of some research done by Dr. Frederick Stare, a nutritionist who said that you need the equivalent of about 8 glasses of water a day in your diet. This was a baseless statement which had no scientific basis to it at all.


Obviously water is important, but people underestimate the amount of water that you get from your food - this can be up to 6 glasses a day equivalent (obviously depending on what you eat). Many people think the 8-glasses a day myth is perpetuated by large water companies who make their money from bottled water.


Regardless, 8 glasses a day is probably not necessary for optimum health, but keeping hydrated definitely is.

Spray your face with cold water or stand with your head in the air from the freezer for a few moments to reduce redness.

Instead of using a chemical make-up remover, use baby oil. It is not so harsh on your skin, removes make-up effortlessly, and leaves your skin feeling soft afterwards.

Laugh - everyday!

 

And use moisturizer or foundation (whatever your preference) with SPF10 or 15! Everyday! On face and neck! I know its boring but it will hold back the years & the damage!

Before you go to sleep at night rub Vaseline on your feet. Sleep with cotton socks and wake up in the morning with baby smooth feet. I know it can be a bit hot at night sleeping with socks on but it's worth it.

Hi there my beauty tips are to exfoliate use some granulated sugar add a bit of water and rub in to the face or body gently rinse with hot water then splash clean with cold water,another moisturiser is use vegetable oil i put it on before bed and wear pjs so it does not get everywhere shower in the morning then moisturise with your usual product you will see the difference in your skins texture straight away,another one leave olive oil in your hair overnight and wash in the morning,another for the face avocado mashed with some honey leave on for ten minutes do this once a week this is realy good for problem skin as the natural healing power of the honey works a treat and it also tastes good,I could go on with lots of money saving tips,vaseline to moisturise your eyelashes if you want to know more let me know

Massage the matrix  (the area of skin just below your cuticle) on your fingers and thumb for strong healthy nails. Do this while applying hand creams.

my best tip is for lips, use a mild creamy scrub to slough off dead skin and moisturise well afterwards - 2 times a week.  Don't use anything harsh or go over board!

My best beauty tip is to take care of your hands as they are the most visible part of you but they also take the most abuse!

look after your hands whilst washing up by adding a tsp of almond oil to the water it will seal the moisture into your skin.

 

mix lemon juice with sea salt and apply with an old toothbrush to exfoliate hands once or twice a week.

 

mix a tsp of oilve oil and a tsp of honey and apply to your hands before bed, wear a pair of cotton gloves over night and your hands will be beautifully soft in the morning.

 

warm a cup of milk for 30 seconds or so just until it is warm but not too hot to touch, put your finger tips in it for 10 mins or so to feed your nails and cuticles.

 

result= beautiful hands!

To make your eyelashes look super long, use an eyelash curler and then blast some hot air onto your lashes while curling! The result is that you have luscious lashes without the hassle of mascara!

As a 38 year old woman, who is constantly asked for I.D when playing the lottery or purchasing alcohol, the secret to "looking" youthful is feeling youthful.  Smiling on the inside.  Being authentic in your actions. Eating and drinking thoughtfully- thinking about what you supply your body with. Surrounding yourself with "real" people. Enjoying yourself, I mean really enjoying yourself. NOT doing things to please other people. But doing things because it is the right thing to do.

if your skin looks tired, just mash some banana and apply it on face.rinse after 15 min.

mashed cottage cheese mixed with few drops of lemon and one tea spoon of olive oil works perfectly as well.

for body: in the shower massage your skin with the bits of coffee which are left after you drunk it( without sugar,of course) .skin become very soft.it helps to fight with cellulite.

for shiny hair: the best is to mix egg( yellow part) with a spoon of cogniac.gently massage into hair and leave for 10 min.then rinse.

it really works and does not cost much!

My beauty tip is less is more when it comes to appying make-up. For instance if i apply lots of eyeliner and mascara i will keep my lips simple and if i apply lots of lipstick i will keep my eye make-up minimal. It's simple!

Before applying foundation try using a serum first.  This will allow your makeup to glide over your skin easily and is much kinder to your skin.
