anti age serum thinning my skin?

Hello there. I am a new poster.

I got an anti-age serum for xmas , it is  by Avon. My skin feels as smooth as a baby's bottom!  I'm hoping some of the lines start to disappear :) The thing is though, my skin, although feeling smooth seems to feel somehow thinner. Is it just my imagination as I am getting used to feeling a diffferent and smoother skin texture on my face, or can such creams actaully thin the skin? Hmm ;/
