2 in 1 Shampoo and conditioner

I heard from a stylist at a hairdresser that they would never even think of using 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner because the shampoo opens up the follicles and the conditioner closes the follicles. This means that 2in1 products are doing both at the same time which is utterly pointelss.

Has anyone else heard of this?

2 in 1's don't work!!! How can they possibly work 2gether? They leave build up on your hair and leave it feeling limp! Treat your hair with some respect and buy something decent!

two in one yuk!!! have used them in the past and they are really nasty, my hair has never felt so dry. do not know who they are suitable for.

I too dont like 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner.  I use a lot more conditioner and treatments for my hair which is naturally curly and prone to frizz.  I used John Frieda serum which is a great item I couldnt live without it.

2 in 1 Shampoos contain, silicones which coat the hair, if you colour or perm your hair these can act as a barrier & prevent the chemicals form working so well

 

The silicones also build-up & can make the hair very dull

Agreed.my hair always feels lank and dull after using 2-in-1 products

My hairdresser - who is also one of my best friends - told me years ago not to use 2-1 shampoos.  They're ok occasionally, when swimming or at the gym, otherwise they are really bad for your hair - I forget why, I'll ask her next time I see her.

I've heard something similar. I was told that shampoo is acidic and that why it can be frizzy or rough after just shampooing. Conditioner is alkaline so restores hair back to its pH and makes it softer too.

Oh! So that is why!

I don't like using them because they feel like they dry my hair out. But that said, if I'm feeling like the hair is very dry already then I'll use a 2in1 AND a conditioner....
