How to stop children over indulging at Christmas
Sarah asked: "We’re having a big family get together- and the children are going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to sweet treats. What’s best to give them to counter the inevitable over indulgence?"
Here's Anita's advice:
What Anita said:
"Hi Sarah,
First of all, most important thing - it's going to happen! Children are going to eat sweets and it is Christmas.
Let's look at low sugar options if you're baking cakes and biscuits. Children love eating with their hands so try to encourage easy pop-in-the-mouth foods, like cherries and grapes.
If you're having fruit juice, water it down so that the sugar content is lower. That's important.
Serve portion in small cups. Children love tiny little cups. It's their little wad of goodness. So make little portions so that they're actually eating less sugar so that we try to keep this balance of sugar down in the body.
Ensure that you know when children aren't having a good diet then they take a really good supplement like Vitabiotics Well Kids. It's full of all the right vitamins and minerals to boost the kids up while their immune system might be a bit put upon during the Christmas season. Also it contains Omega 3s so it ensures that it keeps the body healthy generally.
Good luck!"
